Annalies is a Dutch bom New Zealand Artist best known for her heavily textured Landscapes, giving a 3D dimension to the paintings. She prefers to work in the great outdoors from her mobile studio but also works from her Christchurch based studio. She has exhibited in several group exhibitions and also supplies several galleries with her work.
Annalies is mainly a self taught artist but has a background in ceramic art having enjoyed many years working and experimenting with clay it was time for a change and after attending several workshops and art classes she quickly developed a style of her own incorporating the heavy textures she calls a left over from the pottery years.
Every piece of art created is born from her curiosity of experimenting with different materials, but mainly inspired by her love of New Zealand's beautiful rivers, mountains and coastline. Landscapes are the main subjects of her work but the need to experiment led to abstract designs and she now often combines these different styles resulting in some wonderful contemporary artworks.
Many of Annalies's works now grace the walls of New Zealand and overseas buyers.
